When Valais lambs are born they are a bit wet and sticky like any newborn. Within the first half an hour they are up on their feet trying to feed. Combine the underside of a woolly mama who's been laying in a muddy field with a damp and sticky noggin and you end up with a gloriously bright white lamb with crusty brown head! Our girls need shearing which will happen this week and this will clean and smarten them up a lot. But until then I try to keep their heads clean with warm water and a flannel....
