We have the amazing Indi from the Dartmoor Family and he is an absolute credit to them! Not only is he perfectly marked but more importantly he has the most amazing personality and nature! He is wonderful with our children and that is due to the care and attention that he was given as a lamb. We couldn't be happier!

I would not hesitate in recommending Helen who I had the pleasure to connect with recently when looking to grow my little flock of Valais Blacknose sheep.

After an initial conversation, I made arrangements to visit Helen and her flock.

Picture the idyllic scene, my journey found me driving across the most beautiful scenic parts of Dartmoor, sprinkled with wild ponies and free range indigenous sheep, alongside a tumbling river, over ancient stone bridges forward into a wooded glade and sheltered landscape which was home to Helen and her family.

I was immediately made to feel very welcome, free to walk around her land and see her flock.

Now Valais Blacknose sheep are world renowned for their curiosity and friendly nature, but this flock were the most uber friendly, curious, healthy and gentle creatures. It was clearly evident from their trusting behaviour, that Helen and her family invest a lot of time and energy in being present, socialising and caring for her flock.

This was fantastic to see and a great experience which gave me full confidence and reassurance that I had found a couple of amazing socialised ewe lambs, well marked with great parentage.

Not long after, we came to collect Kiwi and Kamala and took them home to meet with our other 3 VBNs . They travelled super well - fell asleep in fact on the journey home ! Its been a joy to see them bond, play and bounce around the field -but more so, to witness their Uber friendly nature quickly rubbing off on the others! I feel proud and privileged to have a wonderful little flock to care for .

Who ever knew that keeping sheep would be so fulfilling and so much fun! We bought lambs form Helen back at the start of the year. We cannot get over how friendly and gorgeous they are. We are completely besotted! They have wonderful personalities and are truly a part of our family. They do a fantastic job of keeping our orchards in tip top condition. Moreover they are such fun to be with. Everyone who meets them cannot get over how lovely they are. What really struck a chord with us is how Helen is so nurturing, practical and devoted to the welfare of her flock. She has been incredibly helpful and an invaluable source of knowledge in our first year of keeping sheep. We would look anywhere else when we get more.
